The Christian School of
Bethany Presbyterian Church is commissioned by the church and
is understood to be a ministry of the church to the children of Oxford
and the surrounding communities.
During the first six years of life, a child forms his or her basic
patterns for coping with life. Research studies in the learning
process of young children have established that a child develops as
much as 60 - 80% of his total intelligence before the age of six.
It is the purpose of the school to provide a sound academic education
developing of a system of values consistent with the Bible and a
lifestyle that will be pleasing to God. The staff is interested not
only in what the student knows, but is also interested in how the
student acts. Conscious efforts and designs will be implemented daily
to foster love and respect for parents, teachers and peers.
Under the guidance of a qualified teacher, the school will provide for
the developmental needs of the child and emphasize growth in all
areas, physical, emotional, mental and spiritual, as a continuous
interrelated process.
The Christian faith will always remain the essential context within
which the educational process is administered at Bethany Christian
School.
