What
year did you graduate from Bethany’s Middle School?
I graduated Bethany as the Class of 02.
What High School did you attend?
Lan-Chester Christian School for 9th and 10th, then home schooled.
How was your transition from Bethany into high school socially
and academically?
Socially, I found easy to adjust (considering I'm an extrovert).
Academically, I didn't have any troubles either. I graduated with
honors. |

Did any extra-curricular
activities at Bethany prepare you for a better transition into
high school, i.e. sports, music, drama?
At Bethany, I found out I really enjoyed volleyball and played for
two years in high school. I continued to be involved in the drama
productions in high school (even while homeschooled) and traveled
a summer with The Academy of Arts (a Christian drama
organization).
How do you feel Bethany prepared you for high school?
Bethany prepared me academically and made me realize that teachers
could also be my mentors and friends.
What are you doing now? If you are still in high school, where;
if you are working, where; if you are in college, where?
I graduated from Baptist Bible College in May 2010, with honors
and a degree in Bible and Secondary English Education. In August,
I left for China to teach English for two years. My desire is to
teach abroad and/or in a public middle school setting where I can
reach out to students and be a light. |

What
year did you graduate from Bethany’s Middle School?
I graduated Bethany as the Class of 08.
What High School did you attend?
I chose to attend The Tome School.
How was your transition from Bethany into high school socially
and academically?
Socially- I transitioned very well and made friends quickly. By
the second quarter of freshman year, I had adjusted to the
differences and fit in with the other students.
Academically- It took me a while to adjust to the different style
of teaching and curriculum at Tome, but Bethany had prepared me to
try hard and do my best. I made honor roll last year and I have
continued to do so this year. |

Did any extra-curricular
activities at Bethany prepare you for a better transition into
high school, i.e. sports, music, drama?
Music and drama at Bethany gave me a lot of experience in the arts
to carry to high school. The arts aren’t a big focus at Tome, but
I was able to join with other students interested in music and
drama to be a voice for the arts. With sports, Bethany taught me
to be a good sport and to always strive to be better.
How do you feel Bethany prepared you for high school?
Bethany prepared me spiritually for high school because I went
from a Christian environment to a completely secular one, but I
was still able to keep my faith. Bethany prepared me academically
because I was taught to work hard, a skill that became very
valuable at Tome, where academics are the main focus.
What are you doing now? If you are still in high school, where;
if you are working, where; if you are in college, where?
I am currently a sophomore at The Tome School, and I am very
involved with the goings on at Tome. I am a member of Tymeless
Flyte (the school’s rock band), the yearbook staff, the literary
magazine staff, the drama club, and I play volleyball and soccer
in the fall and spring, respectively. I am an honors student, and
I sang the national anthem at one of the girls’ basketball games.
I am not working, although I am looking for a job. |

What
year did you graduate from Bethany’s Middle School?
I graduated Bethany as the Class of 07.
What High School did you attend?
I chose to attend St. Marks High School.
How was your transition from Bethany into high school socially
and academically?
My transition was good. Freshman year was basically all review so
I did great grade-wise. My sophomore year and junior year have
been noticeably harder, but I’ve been keeping up with it. I even
have time for some clubs and other activities. While socially I
was not, and still am not one to have a whole horde of friends, I
have made some good ones that I hang out with both in and outside
of school. I’m actually quite happy the way things have been
turning out. |

Did any extra-curricular
activities at Bethany prepare you for a better transition into
high school, i.e. sports, music, drama?
One thing I think that really has helped me was art class. Not
only do I take art as a class daily, but I am also involved in a
club that is called Markings. In it we vote on artwork and poems
submitted to us from the entire school so that we can put it
together to make a literary magazine. The things I’ve done at
Bethany have helped to open more doors for me in high school by
allowing me to find interests I have and letting me begin to
understand what I want to do.
How do you feel Bethany prepared you for high school?
Well, one big thing I think Bethany did was that in middle school
we had more than one teacher which made us have to change classes.
My first day of high school was a piece of cake because of it. The
only trouble I had at first was figuring out the lock on my locker
and finding my way to the right room. Another nice thing was that
we were taught Algebra I already as well as a good basic
foundation in science. I was able to test out of these classes and
go on to the next because of this. I think I got a great
educational foundation at Bethany as well as an idea of how to not
get on the teachers nerves, which seems to be working because I
haven’t gotten a demerit yet.
What are you doing now? If you are still in high school, where;
if you are working, where; if you are in college, where?
I’m still at St. Marks High School. Right now I’m working as waver
at Liberty Tax Services though taxes are almost over so soon I’ll
be out of a job. I’m not in college yet since I have a year to go,
but I have been looking around and have some choices lined up. I
must say that Bethany was probably the best grade school I could
have gone to out the options I had. I’m glad I went there.
