Technology in the Classroom

Technology supports classroom instruction

We view technology as a God-given blessing. Responsible use of technology, as with any of God’s blessings, is a requirement of faith. We mentor our students on how to use technology responsibly and understand that the teacher remains the most valuable asset in every classroom.

S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) is an important initiative that we are integrating in all of our grades from Preschool through 8th grade. We are laying the groundwork for students to become the next generation of creative, innovative thinkers.

Technology Instruction

Kindergarten through fifth grade have a weekly class in our computer lab.  Students are instructed in the Microsoft Office Suite, Photo Shop and other programs to give them expertise and comfort with computers.

Chromebooks in the Middle School

Our Middle School students use chromebooks on a daily basis. They use them for creating documents and  presentations, daily math quizzes, research, and collaboration. The chromebooks stay at school, but with Google Docs, all of the student’s documents are accessible through the cloud on any computer. Chromebooks assist in improving typing skills and MS Office expertise.

iPads in the Classroom

iPads are one of the tools used by our teachers to enhance instructional delivery.

Each classroom, from Preschool through 5th grade, has a set of five to eight iPads to use to enhance instruction and aid in digging deeper into subjects of interest.

We also have an entire classroom set of iPads that teachers can sign out to use for specific units, topics, or subjects.

Promethean Boards (Smart Boards)

Each of our grades, kindergarten through eighth, are equipped with a Promethean Board, in simplified terms, an interactive version of a white board. These boards enable our teachers to project lessons in creative ways, play video clips, display content from the internet, and digitally enhance the classroom experience.
